Volunteer
Volunteers are critical to the work we do each day, from moving food into the hands of the community to getting gardens ready for the season.
Regular volunteers with Gather to Grow share that they experience fulfillment, a sense of belonging and purpose, and greater connection to community. Get to know your neighbors, dig in the dirt, or spice it up with us in the kitchen! We’ve got a range of opportunities for individuals and groups. See below to apply and for more information on our opportunities. Scroll down for more on our Volunteer Activities.
Volunteer With Us: Application and Forms
If you would like to volunteer with Gather to Grow on a regular basis, even for a short while, please first fill out the volunteer application (below) and our read our expectations. You do not have to fill out the liability form until you are ready to volunteer or participate in a program.
Not ready or able to commit!? No problem! We have DROP IN VOLUNTEER TIMES for our food pantry and community gardens. Drop in times are a great way to get to know Gather to Grow and our work.

Volunteer Activities
Here are some of the activities volunteers with Gather to Grow engage in across our areas of work.
Community Gardens: Our community garden team relies on volunteers to prepare and put to rest our 12 garden beds and nearly 200 garden plots every spring and fall. If you enjoy digging in the dirt, working with plants and people this is a great role for you.
Food Pantry Support: Our food pantry team unloads and distributes an average of 12,000 lbs of food each week to nearly 500 households! Volunteers help unload, sort, and shelve food and support food distribution and restocking during open hours. If you love working in a team setting and among our many diverse communities this is a great role for you.
Community Meals: About once a month Gather to Grow offers brings our neighbors together to share in a meal and get to know one another. Volunteers help with food prep, space set up and break down.
Building Support and Projects: Gather to Grow’s facility is a nearly 130 year old school building. There is always something to do around our building from cleaning, to organizing, to fixing up and constructing.
Gather to build friendship.
“Gather to Grow is family.”
